Does the MOT cover everything?
No! The MOT test represents a thorough visual inspection of your vehicle, however there are some areas that are not checked:
- Removal of Parts: The MOT test is a visual inspection of the vehicle
- Engine oil quality: A vehicle’s engine oil provides protection to vital components and should be changed in accordance with manufacturer recommendation.
- Wheel Alignment: Other elements such as tyre wear can indicate poor wheel alignment but the vehicle geometry is not checked as part of the MOT test.
This is why it is equally important that you have all aspects of your vehicle’s maintenance, such as the service, carried out accordingly.
